Volunteering
|
|
Special Needs Support Center Of The Upper Valley uses a number of volunteers
in a variety of ways, such as:
|
- Teens and young adults to attend Happenings events
- Help with mailings and other communications at the office; this includes
help with the preparation of our quarterly newsletter
- Volunteers to "man" the display of the Playhouse at different times in
the summer at different venues in the Upper Valley
- Puppeteers for Kids on the Block
- Educational advocates to assist parents of children needing special educational services
- Dartmouth College students to help with our Connections program - a big
brother/big sister program for children with special needs
- Dartmouth Medical School students to help with the Medical Buddies program,
similar to the bb/bs program
- Our Respite Program would welcome volunteers to provide respite care for
parents "needing a break"
- The SNSC Board of Directors is always on the look out for new members
willing to provide leadership to our organization
- Parent to Parent of NH is in need of Supporting Parents to be matched with
"new" parents of children with special needs
- Help maintain our Nathan Hall Library
- Educational contacts with our state and national legislators, especially at
certain times of the year, would be really helpful in trying to secure needed
funding for services to families with children having special needs
